Steady snowfall predicted for St. Louis overnight

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – The winter Storm Warning is effect for much of the region into Monday. Snow will be picking up in intensity from north to south and increasing from the southwest through midnight. Steady snow is likely all night long lasting into the morning rush hour.

Accumulations will range from 3″ to 5″ northwest of St. Louis and from 5″ to 10″ over the metro and points south and southeast. Most of the accumulation will come between midnight and 6am. Lighter snow will continue until around midday Monday before the system exits to the east.

This is not a big wind producing storm with gusts only reaching 10-15 mph. Much colder air will filter into the region Tuesday night and Wednesday with what looks to be the coldest air of the winter season for St. Louis.
