ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - A spike in heroin deaths across the United States hits home in the St. Louis area.   Several counties have raised public awareness about the epidemic. The latest cry for help came in the form of an ad during the Super Bowl.

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse aired that powerful ad during the game in the St. Louis Area. The purpose, to help raise public awareness of the local heroin epidemic that has stolen the lives of thousands of young people and shattered thousands of families.
