FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL (KPLR) – The Fairview Heights Police Department is looking for an African-American suspect for thefts at the St. Clair Square Mall. Police say the suspect is wanted for the theft of employee’s personal items that started back in December of 2014.

Investigators believe the suspect gained access to the employee’s personal items by entering stores and making his way to employee break or lounge areas.  So far employees from Babies R Us, Big Lots, Hollister in the mall and Here Today department store have had items stolen.  One victim had her car stolen after the suspect gained access to the vehicle from the keys in her stolen purse. It’s believed the suspect took the vehicle and drove it to south St. Louis County and committed thefts at a Babies R Us and a Sally’s Beauty Supply.

Police say the suspect is 5 foot 9, heavy build and may be wearing a red hoodie and baseball cap with “KC” and “Kansas City” on the front and back of the cap.
