January 30th marks Lucy Hamm Day in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Today is Lucy Hamm Day in St. Louis. So who is Lucy Hamm? She is one of the oldest people living in St. Louis and today she turned 107 years young! Mayor Francis Slay has attended her birthday party for the past seven years, and renews the proclamation, that every January 30th is “Lucy Hamm Day.”

The Cairo, Illinois native moved to St. Louis in the 1930s and worked in the show making industry. She now lives at the Tower Grove Manor Retirement Apartments.

Her family says she is still active and loves to volunteer.
