St. Louis County to roll out economic plan for Ferguson

(KPLR) – Focusing on the future of Ferguson, new St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger is set to rollout plans to help north St. Louis County rebuild after the unrest from Michael Brown’s death and grand jury ruling.

The community empowerment office will work with the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership to help business owners in Ferguson and Dellwood.

The county department of human services has handed out $240,000 in relief to the area through the United Way.

The next phase of relief will come on February 21st, when the county will offer financial aid to employees of business affected.

The county also plans to wave penalties for late real estate tax payments.
