ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - As you've probably noticed, we've been without our "studio home" for the past few weeks. But, that's about to change in a big way.

For the past few weeks we've been working in something of a construction zone. Our newsroom and studio have been taken over by carpenters, electricians and engineers. Crews have been hard at work dismantling our old set right after Christmas. Then, carefully assembling the pieces of a state-of-the-art, ultra modern set. It was a massive undertaking but well worth it. We're ready to unveil it when we go on the air Wednesday morning.

Everything on set is new from top to bottom. The new anchor desk is sleek, and the center of the studio is a kind of the hub of where everything happens. Behind the desk is one of two amazing video walls made up of high-tech monitors bringing you crystal clear video and graphics.

Caroline Aldridge led the design team for the new set, "I love that you have two video walls. Most stations are lucky to get one, to have two is great."

The other video wall will be used by the FOX 2 team of meteorologists in our brand new weather center. Whether it's delivering breaking severe weather alerts or tweaking the 5-day forecast this is the most advanced weather center in Saint Louis.

Our set also has new LED lighting walls and monitors that reporters and anchors can use to better tell their stories with enhanced technology. For the very first time FOX 2 and KPLR'S News 11 team will broadcast from the same studio.

"We have two television stations to operate and we're doing 80 hours of local news a week. There's an awful lot more than just reporting the news, it`s reporting the content and serving the viewers in the best possible way. We figured this type of arrangement would make them feel comfortable with who they already know." said station General Manager Spencer Koch.

Join us Wednesday morning for FOX 2 news starting at 4am as we settle in to our brand new home. We're really excited about it.
