Mayville, MI (WNEM) — People tend to do crazy things to retrieve lost items.

One Mayville man-made a plunge into ice-cold water to retrieve one of his most prized-possessed items, his cell phone.

Mark Snyder stripped down to his long johns and plunged into an ice fishing hole on the Saginaw Bay to retrieve his phone. Snyder dropped it down the hole on accident while ice fishing.

Even though Snyder was in shallow water he still tied a tether around his wrist for safety, while his friend Chas Legue videotaped the plunge.

In the video you can see Snyder, wearing nothing but long johns, submerge himself into the icy cold water and retrieve his phone, which surprisingly still worked.
