MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KPLR) - Wednesday was a busy day for last-minute shopping at Chesterfield Mall. Several stores were closed for the holiday, but the majority were still open.

And shoppers were taking full advantage of last-minute sales.

One of the busiest areas of the mall was at the gift wrapping table, where shoppers brought their newly purchased gifts to be wrapped by one of the volunteers.

The gift wrapping table is operated by several not-for-profit organizations that accept donations for wrapping gifts.

While some shoppers were still able to shop at Toys 'r' Us which didn't close till  9 pm. Still others headed to Walgreens to pick-up those last-minute gifts. Most shoppers were trying to pick up batteries, gift-cards, and stocking suffers. The lines were long, but Walfgreens  had  extra staff on hand to help customers. Walgreens is open 24 hours a day, so for any last-minute shoppers Walgreens might be your best bet.
