CREVE COEUR, MO (KPLR)- A student was taken into custody Tuesday morning after bringing a gun to a private Creve Coeur school.

A staff member from Whitfield School, an independent school for grades 6-12, called the Creve Coeur Police Department a little after 8:00am to report the incident. Another student had told staff that the student had a gun in their backpack.

When they arrived, police discovered that the loaded weapon had been secured by school staff. The student never threatened anyone with the gun. The student was taken into custody, the handgun seized and the St. Louis County Family Court was alerted.
