ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KPLR) – It was an emotional moment for two elementary students in the Hazelwood school district Tuesday. That’s because Army Sergeant first class Brian Banks surprised his daughters, Erin and Bryann at Jamestown elementary this morning.

Sergeant Banks arrived in St. Louis Monday night, but kept his return a secret until he visited his daughters’ school this morning with his wife, Janelle.

He has been on active duty for nine months and took leave to surprise his family for Christmas.

Sergeant Banks is a 25 year army veteran, and is currently stationed in California.
