ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - On November 13th a woman who does not want to be identified says she took her husband to John Cochran VA hospital for a doctor’s appointment. She parked her car with the valet company stationed out front.
Two hours later when the couple returned, they were told by a valet that their new 2015 Toyota Venza had been stolen.
The victim says someone jumped in the car with the keys still inside and drove off. She also says the incident happened within 4 minutes of her arrival at the hospital. Adding, 'It had been stolen and it was used in a robbery. My car has seven bullets was fired through it, they also drove 1,200 miles in three days.'
News11 contacted the VA hospital and a spokeswoman confirmed at least 4 cars had been stolen that week. She also says the contracted valet company gives free service to patients and visitors.
Aside from repairing $11,000 worth of damage, the victim is also asking for tightened security. Hospital officials say they have stepped up security so along with the valet company on site. The valet company is also helping victims with repairs and rental car costs.
