Thieves target parked cars at fitness centers across St. Louis area

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Thieves targeted three fitness center parking lots across the St. Louis metro area Thursday morning. The first break-in occured at the Club Fitness located in Hampton Village. Thieves smashed the windows of three to four vehicles and stole various items from the cars. The owners were just several feet away working out.

St. Louis County police are also looking into car break-ins that took place in Concord Village in Sappington. Thieves targeted three to four vehicles while the owners were inside the Xist Fitness Club.

The third break-in happened outside of Club Fitness Mehlville in the south Lakeview Plaza Shopping Center. Again, windows were smashed and items stolen.

Police believe it is the same group involved in all three.
