St. Louis firms given ok to fly drones

(KPLR) - Two Saint Louis companies have won approval from the FAA to fly drones. Woolpert and Clayco design, engineering, and construction firms were two of only five companies granted drone permits.

The companies say they will use the drones for mapping and surveying projects.

The FAA had received 160 requests from businesses to legally fly drones.
