Disciplining children in the 21st century

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Disciplining of children now involves respecting their feelings and wisdom. This extends to encouraging children to make choices and decisions, and listening and honoring those choices, with appropriate parental guidance and support.   There is less emphasis on commanding and demanding of children and more emphasis on discussing choices, alternatives and consequences, in a developmentally appropriate way.
