GRAFTON, IL (KPLR) – Peter Allen, plant manager confirms the Asian Carp processing plant is: 'We're out of business'.

They miscalculated the odor that would be created, stating that the equipment used was designed for use with catfish, not carp.

The company was happy with the work they did to get 2.5 million fish out of the river since May.

But now, 8 people are out of work, in addition to 50 fishermen who got income from the project.

The company is in talks with cities outside of the St. Louis region to bring the facility there.
