MINNEAPOLIS - A cancer patient got the thrill of a lifetime from a legendary performer. When Garth Brooks saw a fan's unique sign at a concert, he took a moment to give her a night she'll never forget.

The Friday night concert was Teresa Shaw's special treat after enduring a five month battle against stage-three breast cancer. She traveled from Iowa to Minnesota for the show and held up a sign that read "Chemo this morning... Garth tonight... Enjoying the dance," a nod to the Country superstar's hit song "The Dance."

Brooks saw the sign and stopped the show. Touched by the message, Brooks walked over and began singing to her. He then handed her his guitar. Brooks' mother and sister both died from cancer.
