CREVE COEUR, MO (KTVI) – Attendance was down at Parkway North High School Friday after school officials sent a note to parents regarding a shooting rumor.

According to the note, several parents contacted the District SAFE line about a student who said they would come to school and shoot people. School officials say the reference was to an incident that happened a few weeks ago and the student involved has not been back to campus since.

St. Louis County police are investigating.
