St. Charles attorney sentenced to prison and fined over $200,000

ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) –  St. Charles County Attorney Jeffrey Witt received 44 months in prison and a fine of more than $200,000.

Witt was charged with falsifying documents and using his mother’s name to obtain a bank loan for a house which  did not belong to him,  and cashing client settlement checks without their knowledge.

Witt fled the US in October 2013 while under federal investigation.  He was arrested in march of this year in New York.
