Murders in St. Louis reach 109 this year

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Four people were murdered in the city of St. Louis over the past 24 hours. That brings the total to 109 this year. That's a 30 percent increase from this time in 2013.

Last night a man was shot to death in north St. Louis. It happened near the intersection of Evans and Prairie around 7:45p.m. According to witnesses, someone one fired at least four shots at the victims.

No one has been arrested.

On Tuesday afternoon, two men were shot to death in O'Fallon park. The two men were found inside of a BMW. A woman was also in the car. She was covered in blood.

That the woman did not want police to be called because she had a gun and drugs.

The victims were Justin Houston and Morrison Lee. Both of the men were shot in the head around 12:45p.m.

No one has been arrested.

Finally, a man was shot to death in north St. Louis on Tuesday morning. The shooting happened in the 4000 block of West Florissant Avenue.

Police say at least 26 shots were fired at the man as he was sitting in a parked van.

Again, no one has been arrested.

Dozens of these murders remain unsolved.
