Ferguson man hopes food drive will help heal community

FERGUSON, MO (KPLR) - Carl Hart is a resident of Ferguson who wants to help change the negative perception that St. Louisans, the nation and world has of Ferguson after weeks of protest over the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in August.

Monday night a food drive will be held at Marley’s Bar and Grill on Florissant Road in Ferguson.

All of the canned food collected will be given to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. The church has been helping the underprivileged and down an out in north St. Louis County for 25 years.

Hart hopes that by helping others in Ferguson that the community will come together and show that Ferguson is worth supporting.
