No venue change in Hailey Owens murder case

(KPLR) – The trial of a man suspected of kidnapping and killing a 10-year-old girl will stay in Springfield, Missouri, but the jury will be brought in from northern Missouri.

Craig Wood is charged with kidnapping, raping and killing Hailey Owens this past February.   Wood’s defense had tried to get the trial moved out of Springfield.

The prosecutor will try it as a death penalty case.
