O'FALLON, MO (KTVI)- A fire destroyed three homes in St. Charles County Thursday morning following a possible lightning strike. Around 1:30 a.m., a fire ripped through a home in the 300 block of William Clark Drive. Authorities believe a lightning strike may be to blame.

The flames destroyed most of the first home, the garage and the vehicle inside. Then the fire hop scotched to the second and third home and melted away a lot of siding.

The woman who lives in the first home was gone when the fire started, and the people who live in the second and third homes were able to escape.

No one was hurt.

Firefighters from several area fire departments were called to the scene and were eventually able to get the fire under control.
