WELLSTON, MO (KTVI) – There is a big problem in one St Louis County community. Residents in the North County town of Wellston are dealing with a dangerous hazard that they say City Hall is ignoring. A hole right in the middle of the street that cars have to weave around. It’s especially treacherous at night what many can’t even see the hole.

Residents have pleaded with city officials in Wellston to do something about the problem but got nowhere. MSD says they investigated the trouble and discovered that the problem is created by a faulty lateral.  They say it is up to the homeowner and the city to solve it. The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District says it’s written a letter to Wellston about the issue but got no response.

Things are getting worse, a second hole is forming in the street. Wellston told You Paid For It that it’s not the city’s problem. Many angry taxpayers disagree.
