ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - St. Louis police want you to take a good look at some surveillance pictures to help track down a burglar. They say he broke into an apartment on Mullanphy Street in north St. Louis, and stole from a family, while the adults were asleep a room over.
At around 6pm on August 24th, Shannon Jackson and his fiancée were taking a nap at their home in the Murphy Park apartment complex. Their kids were playing in the courtyard. That’s when Jackson says the suspect walked into the courtyard and approached his kids, asking them where their parents were, and specifically, where they were inside their apartment.
The kids had left the door unlocked when they went to play outside. When they went back inside, they woke their parents up immediately. Their flat-screen TV was gone. Jackson says, “The neighbors said the guy ran out the front gate, and ran down this alley here, with the TV. It’s a big old TV, 60-inch, I don’t know how one person could carry it, but I guess he did.”
This father is thankful that this man didn’t harm his kids, and is definitely reviewing “stranger danger” with them. He explains, “It’s real scary for someone to ask your kids, where are your parents in the house, and things like that.”
Jackson and his neighbors are eager for the suspect to be identified and arrested. If you know who this suspect is, or have any information on this crime, call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
