FERGUSON, MO (KPLR) – Wednesday Governor Jay Nixon lifted the state of emergency for the City of Ferguson.

According to some, that could indirectly lead to more civil disobedience surrounding the Michael Brown case.

Protesters are speaking out about the lifting of the state of emergency and the issue of prosecuting Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson.

With the lifting of the state of emergency, Governor Nixon has revoked his special powers and ability to remove St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch from the Michael Brown investigation.
