EARTH CITY, MO (KPLR) – The Rams 10 man practice squad did not include ex-Mizzou defensive end Michael Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted in the NFL.

Rams head coach Jeff Fisher cut Sam Saturday, saying it was a football decision.  It was also a football decision not to keep Michael on the practice squad because the Rams are loaded on the defensive line.

Sam is free to sign with another team.  After being cut Saturday, Sam was not picked up by another NFL team on waivers.
