FENTON, MO (KPLR)– Two men and a woman were found dead Thursday in a Jefferson County, Missouri home.

An ambulance was called to the  600 block of Walnut Ridge near Fenton around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say a healthcare worker went to the house Wednesday to check on a patient and no one answered the door. On Thursday the healthcare worker called the police.

Police found a 64-year-old male, a 55-year-old female, and a 41-year-old male dead.

According to  Sheriff Glenn Boyer, the ignition was turned on in the car in an attached garage, but they are unsure if the deaths were accidental or intentional.

Boyer said there were high levels of carbon monoxide inside the home.  The fire department was on the scene ventilating the home.

They were sleeping in different parts of the home. One person was in an easy chair, another was in a bedroom and the third was on a mattress in the basement.  Sheriff Boyer thinks it may have been an accident but they are still investigating.
