Deputy resigns ahead disciplinary hearing over maced pizza

(KPLR) – A News11 follow-up on a deputy in Franklin County accused of pepper spraying a pizza served to inmates in the jail.

The sheriff’s deputy submitted his resignation Wednesday afternoon, one day before his scheduled disciplinary hearing.

The deputy had said, the pepper spray got on the pizza when he test-fired his canister in the janitor’s closet.
