Police identify body found in Cottleville lake; no foul play suspected

COTTLEVILLE, MO (KPLR) -Police found the body of a man floating in a Cottleville lake just after 6am Tuesday morning.  They have identified him as Clarence Cole.  He is a 29-year-old resident of the  Montecito Subdivision.

The Major Case Squad was activated to investigate the circumstances surrounding the person’s death.  St. Peters police say an autopsy was performed.  There appears to be no obvious signs of trauma or foul play.   The final autopsy results are pending and it could take several weeks.

The body was found on Florence Drive at Venice Circle in the Monticeto subdivision.  Witnesses say someone spotted the body Tuesday morning, but no one is sure how long it’s been there. One neighbor calls it a quiet neighborhood.
