ST. ANN, MO (KPLR) - A St. Ann police officer owes his life to quick thinking colleagues who rushed to the rescue while he was having a heart attack.
The police chief says an AED is to thank for saving the life of 44-year-old Dave Campos.
Campos suffered a heart attack inside the break room at the police department around noon Wednesday.
He collapsed, hit his head and started to have seizures.
Two officers ran to his aid and radioed for the defibrillator near the jail.
Campos had surgery for a stent today and is expected to recover, thanks to the quick thinking of his co-workers.
The chief ordered four more defibrillators for the city building and community center.
