ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Three people were injured in a fire overnight at an apartment building in North St. Louis.

It broke out just after 1 a.m. in an apartment on the second flood of the three-story building on Hamilton Boulevard at Maple Avenue.

Three people were treated for smoke inhalation and more than 100 people who live in the building were evacuated.  Those residents have now been allowed back into the building as the damage was apparently contained to only one unit.

The building did have working smoke detectors.
