SPRING, TX (CNN) – The Texas teenager who was the only survivor of a shooting that killed her parents and four siblings is thanking her community.
Foti Kallergis has more about her message at a memorial for the victims.
Standing tall, smiling and waving.

Roger Lyons, Cassidy's Grandfather: "That is her mother's spirit."

Like a beauty queen being welcomed home.

Roger Lyons, Cassidy's Grandfather: "I love you guys."

Cassidy stay is actually so much more.

Roger Lyons, Cassidy's Grandfather: "We continue to be in awe, how she was able to save us."

The nightmare captivated an entire nation.

How could anyone survive a mass shooting?

Roger Lyons, Cassidy's Grandfather: "She had been shot. And had witnessed the murder of her mother, father and siblings."

And live to say a word.

Her grandfather said Cassidy told them angels were there inside that home as one by one her parents and siblings were executed.

Those angels she said gave her one message.

Stay quiet.

Roger Lyons, Cassidy's Grandfather: "We have wandered in the course of the past three days whether those angels might have been her brothers and sisters."

When accused killer Ron Lee Haskell left the home Cassidy called police preventing even more bloodshed.

Cassidy Stay, Shooting Survivor: "Hey guys."

For the first time today Cassidy broke her silence.

Cassidy Stay, Shooting Survivor: "I know that my mom, dad, Brian, Emily, Becca and Zach are in a much better place and that I will be able to see them again one day."

For now she hopes her angels get these messages.

Cassidy Stay, Shooting Survivor: "Our community is amazing, absolutely amazing."

Written and tied to balloons by hundreds of people.

Released to the heavens.

The 15 year old found comfort and hope in a quote from harry potter.

Cassidy Stay, Shooting Survivor: "In the 'Prisoner of Azkaban,' Dumbledore says 'Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times. If one only remembers to turn on the light.'"

That light now shining brightly and guiding the path of the young girl who has lost so much in her darkest hour.

Dear KPLR11, I ask that you read your story above and tell me if the words as written make any sense to you? Reading this has left me frustrated and confused as to what the heck you are trying to say!! Do you have proofreaders? Are you in such a hurry to be the first with the story that you don’t care how it reads?
