OVERLAND, Mo. (KPLR) - Summer storms can be deadly for birds, but especially for small songbirds. But, the Wild Bird Rehabilitation center can help the injured animals. And, people who find downed songbirds in the city do not have to drive very far to get that help. The center is in a renovated home in Overland, just a few minutes outside of St. Louis.  Some of the people at Wild Bird Rehab heal the birds with their hands, while others work to keep the center running.  The facility has to comply with dozens of Federal and state guidelines for safety and funding. That work is not cheap.  If you want to help, there will be a special fundraiser for those who love fashion and nature. You can enjoy beverages, appetizers, desserts, gift bags, and a door prize drawing.
