Urge front man to open 2nd hot dog restaurant thanks to crowdsourcing

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) -  A St. Louis musician is using social media to expand his business in the Tower Grove East neighborhood.  Singer Steve Ewing is growing his hot dog business in the Gateway City.

St. Louisans will go to great lengths when it comes to finding some great links.

"Every Monday I go to a fitness class and then I feel I deserve a hot dog afterwards and I come here, it's my favorite place to get one." said Jillian Link.

Fans of Steve's hot dogs on The Hill will be receiving the gift of flavor. thanks to social media, they're expanding to Tower Grove East off Magnolia.  Steve Ewing is also known as the front man for seminal St. Louis rock and ska band, The Urge. When he's not busy giving listeners too much stereo, he'll now give fans two locations to choose from. Thanks to crowd sourcing through indie go go his plan to expand met it's $15,000 goal.

"I heard there were 374 donations from different people and they're opening a place in Tower Grove which is great cause now I have another excuse to go over there too." said Jillian Link.

Ewing plans to open the second week of August, which begs the question...

"When does Steve Ewing sleep?  Ha ha ha.  Very short periods of time, any time I can get it." said Ewing.

The new location will be attached to the Tick Tock Tavern. This frontman will be selling more franks and meeting more fans in the near future.
