ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Fair St. Louis in Forest Park is over and many people who attended the event say it was a success.

Fair officials estimate that more than 250,000 people attended the fair, over the course of the three days. That`s slightly more than fair attendance at the archgrounds. But, this venue is larger and more spread out, so fairgoers said it didn`t necessarily feel as crowded.

Added law enforcement kept all those fairgoers safe. all weekend there was just one arrest for illegally discharging a firework.  To fair officials` knowledge, there were no car break-ins. Many fairgoers were also pleasantly surprised by how relatively smooth the traffic was. With the event`s success, will Fair St. Louis be back in Forest Park next year?

"We`re excited to close out this year and we have a little more cleaning up to do to put the park back in it`s great state, and then we`re going to evaluate what we`re going to do for next year. We obviously can`t be on the arch grounds again, so we`re going to look at an alternate venue, forest park was a great host for us, and we hope they let us back next year, and we look forward to that in the next few months, making that announcement." said Fair St. Louis Foundation Chairman Parker Condie.

In terms of next year, assuming the event is back at Forest Park, fair officials hope to bring in even bigger crowds. They'll also work on evaluating areas of improvement, including parking and handicap accessibility.
