Pat Quinn signs new anti-bullying legislation

(KPLR) – Stopping bullies in their tracks.  A new Illinois law aims to keep the peace in and out of classrooms.   Governor Pat Quinn signed the legislation Thursday.

It gives schools more specific requirements for their anti- bullying policies.  Schools must now define bullying and spell out procedures for reporting it.

Officials must also investigate those reports and spell out actions that will be taken if the bullying continues.

The law take effect immediately.
