Open garage doors invitation for burglars

(KPLR) – In Monday’s “The Way It Oughta Be”, JB looks at an open invitation for burglars that can be easily stopped.

I was driving through a St. Charles neighborhood the other day and was surprised how many open garage doors there were.  We saw dozens of them in neighborhoods without anyone in the front yard.

Police tell me those open garage doors are an open invitation to burglars. And if you think break- ins only happen at night, think again.  One officer told me most home break-ins happen in the middle of the afternoon.

So if you want to help your police department curb crime, trying shutting the garage door when you're not around.

I'm JB, and that's “The Way It Oughta Be”.

its a sad commentary on society when leaving a door open or unlocked makes you responsible for any robbery/burglary. what happened to laying the blame on where it belongs….the thief???? and yes I realize that in todays world leaving things open and unlocked is considered irresponsible, I’m just saying…..
