WASHINGTON, MO (KPLR) – After hours of waiting and anticipation Pippa Middelton and other cyclist from around the world made their way through Washington Missouri Wednesday as part of the Race Across America. A ride to raise money for charities around the world. Middleton and her brother James are part of an 8 man team who battled hot temperatures for their cause. Locals in Washington gathered at Revolution Cycles to welcome the group. They were ready with cameras, cow bells and burgers. Dave Cochran and Joe Ferguson say it all happened in a flash.

"I'm excited, it's Kates sister she's the one who got all of the attention during the wedding." said Cochran.

'She went by as a fast as can be it was unbelievable. They`ve got to make it through the mountains through the rain, all the way through the desert 3,000 miles to get to the finish line that's awesome." said Ferguson

More than 200 cyclists from around the world are part the race that started in Oceanside, California last Saturday. The race will cross 12 states for a total of 3000 miles. The trek will end in Annapolis, Maryland. The Washington pit stop is open to cyclist 24-hours a day through Friday.
