HOUSE SPRINGS, MO (KPLR) - Rescue crews  have recovered the body of a man who was swept under water by strong currents along the Big River.  It happened at Rockford Beach Park near House Springs.   Authorities received a 911 call for the 20-year-old around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

While river levels are about normal for this time of year, the man went missing in a deep hole just downstream from a damn near the park where the water is murky and as much as 18 feet deep in spots.

There is a "swift moving stream" warning for the Big River posted on Jefferson County's Rockford Beach Park website.   It's says, "strong currents produce dangerous swimming conditions.  Life guards are not on duty.  SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK!"
