Montgomery County Fair to host mini Special Olympics

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, IL (KPLR) – On June 21st, the Montgomery County Fair in Butler, IL will host a mini-Special Olympics for all special needs children and adults. The event will feature Ring Toss, Tennis Ball Toss, Softball Toss, Standing Long Jump, Basketball Standing Shots, 50-yd Walk, 50-yd Jog, 50-yd Run, 200-yd x 4 Relay Race, Manual & Electric Wheelchair Obstacle Course and Manual & Electric Wheelchair Straight-Course Race.

The games will begin at 10 am in the arena, but sign in will start at 8 am in the Pit Area. Entry into the fairgrounds will cost $5, while admission for participants is free.

After the games, everyone is invited to walk the grounds and dress up in costumes for the event.

But best of all, carnival rides will be free starting at 1 pm.
