ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – It was a weird weather Monday for St. Louis. We're almost to the middle of June and temperatures have been, well, pleasant.
But, do cooler than average temps keep customers away from ice cream?
'In the 90's you want to stay home in the air conditioning,' says Travis Dillan. 'So, I think it's for us. It helps us.'
This afternoon there was a steady stream of concretes being made at Ted Drewes frozen custard stand.
And while it might be too cool for the pool as area aquatic centers are seeing fewer swimmers this summer, lower temperatures won't deter those that want their frozen fix.
'Oh, psst for Ted Drewes, never,' says Denise Nault. 'It's so delicious. Have you had one?'
'Yes,' says Patrick Clark.
'Okay so you know it's fabulous, right? Yeah.'
'If we have a period of weather that stays in the 80's or 85 rather than 90 or 95 we're so much happier,' says Dillan. 'I think we're all happier but for the ice cream business it's great, people enjoy it.'
And what's not to love about cool temperatures and custard on a weird weather Monday.
