ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– The Humane Society of Missouri rescued an injured puppy with a swollen head in north St. Louis.

The five-month-old black lab mix had a bungee cord wrapped around his neck that had forced his head to swell to the size of a soccer ball.

Veterinarians removed the cord which was making it hard for the dog to swallow and breathe.

“He’s feeling a lot better, he def did not have this energy when he came in, he was very lethargic,” said Doctor Mark Wright.

The humane society named the dog Wilson.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Humane Society of Missouri’s Animal Cruelty Hotline at 314-647-4400.
