UNIVERSITY CITY, MO (KPLR) – Monday night the fate of 5 University City firefighters could be decided by the city council. Originally it was 6 firefighters that were disciplined for appearing in uniform for a political ad that got the firefighters in trouble with the city. But one firefighter has since been offered and accepted a position with neighboring fire district.

All of firefighters were suspended without pay for 3 months, for what the City Manager for University City said was a violation of Missouri statue that prohibits first responders, including firefighters, to be involved in political activity in uniform.
