ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – As night fell on the St. Louis Sunday, the area remains under the threat of severe weather through Monday late afternoon.

Severe weather struck the Midwest, and Southern U.S. this weekend, with an 11-month-old North Carolina baby becoming the first tornado related death of the 2014 season. The second and third deaths occurred in Arkansas Sunday evening during a massive tornado that rolled through an area north of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Back here in Missouri, several waves of storms rolled across Kansas and Missouri, with storm damage occurring in western Missouri causing power outages, hail damage and lightning. In counties nearer to St. Louis, Franklin and St. Charles Counties were on the front line for stormy weather with high wind gust, rain and lightning.
