FLORISSANT, MO (KPLR) - A 20-year-old Berkeley man has been charged with stealing a firearm and receiving stolen property. Police say Rashod Sears, Senior stole his step-mother's semi-automatic pistol from her Florissant home in March of 2012.

Sears confessed to the crime and said he later sold the pistol in St. Louis.

Authorities say he also was in possession of another pistol that had been reported stolen in March of this year from Christian County, Missouri.

Sears said he knew that gun had been stolen and that he was holding it for a friend.
