(NEW DELHI, INDIA) – Hiding gold bars in his belly, surgeons in India were forced to open a man’s stomach, after he complained of having extreme abdominal pain.

What did they find, well, a fortune?

Doctors say the 63-year-old man was hiding 12 gold bars in his belly.

He’s accused of smuggling them into India to evade an import tax.

According to gold estimates, they’re worth about 16-thousand dollars all together.

The bars have been sent to customs for investigation.

The patient was discharged and is reportedly doing fine.
