ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) - If you use the Blanchette Bridge, you could run into some traffic tie-ups Tuesday.

The closures are happening in the westbound lanes and everything should be cleared by the afternoon.  MoDOT closed the two right lanes going westbound over the bridge at 7:00 a.m.

Then at 10:30 a.m., workers will switch and close the two left lanes.  Crews will also close one left lane going eastbound over the bridge after the morning commute at 9:00 a.m.

MoDOT says the closures are needed so crews can complete some minor maintenance work from the major westbound bridge rehabilitation.

The westbound side of the bridge was completely closed from November 2012 to August 2013.

All lane closures should be reopen by 3:00 p.m.
