Suspects flee fatal shooting in North St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - It sounded like a gun battle in north St. Louis. A teenager was killed. Police are searching for the suspects. It happened around 2:30pm on Thursday afternoon near the corner of Harris and Natural Bridge.

The body of the 19-year-old victim was located in an alley behind an Auto Zone Store. Police say the teen was walking down the street when a car approached and the people inside opened fire. The victim ran. Then a man inside the car got out, chased him and fired more shots.

The victim who was not armed suffered multiple wounds. Homicide detective Lt. John Green estimated at many as 20 shots were fired by the suspect. Green said, “We know he was the intended target this was not a random act.

There are surveillance cameras in the 21st ward, a project of Alderman Antonio French. It’s possible one of those cameras may have caught the criminals. Police were looking for a dark grey or black car with as many as four men inside.
