Astronaut in St. Louis to speak at Boeing leadership seminar

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - An astronaut on the cutting edge of the space frontier is in Saint Louis speaking to a group of Boeing employees.

Walt Cunningham he was part of Apollo 7, NASA'S first manned Apollo mission, that lifted off back in October 1968.

A lot has changed at NASA between then and now. Colonel Cunningham says he's concerned about the direction of the space program.

"NASA has to be on the frontier because let's face it so called commercial space companies they have to show a profit and a return on investment and that return on pushing the boundaries is many, many years in the making." said Colonel Walt Cunningham

Colonel Cunningham will speak to a Boeing leadership seminar on Tuesday at the Science Center.
