ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – The Mehlville School District will likely wait until at least early May before deciding how it will replace Superintendent Eric Knost.

Monday, Knost asked to be let out of his contract effective at the end of the school year, as he emerged as the finalist for the top job with the Rockwood School District. He’ll be formally confirmed by Rockwood’s Board of Education Thursday night.

A Mehlville spokesperson said board members will likely wait until after the April 8 election before deciding if an interim superintendent would be named and how the search for a permanent replacement would take shape.
